The increasing number of pipelines, aging infrastructure, and stricter guidelines have put pressure on corrosion experts to complete their measurements and analyze results more quickly. The new PCMx system is designed to meet these challenges by providing faster measurements and a more portable structure.
One-Second Mapping Measurements
With each mapping measurement lasting just one second, measurement times are reduced. The integrated GPS provides positional data for each measurement.
Two Measurements in One Pass of the Pipeline
Perform both ACCA and ACVG measurements in a single pass of the pipeline. The PCMx allows you to collect both types of measurements simultaneously, reducing investigation time and obtaining results more quickly.

Radiodetection’s Peak+ technology ensures the compass screen is accurately aligned while guiding you to your target pipeline more quickly. Simultaneous depth and current measurements ensure you follow the correct line.
Quick Results
With a mobile (Android) companion app, users can analyze on-site results in graphs. It helps you move to your next measurement more quickly by walking forward or backward. An additional PC application offers advanced graphical tools.
Enhanced Ergonomics
The balanced design and lighter weight (2.2 kg) make it easier to carry the receiver over long distances. The Li-ion rechargeable battery extends operational time.
Transmitters for Distribution and Transmission Lines
For distribution lines, the Tx-25 PCM provides 1 Amp output. This lighter, battery-operated transmitter offers extra portability and flexibility in the field.
The additional 8 kHz high-frequency locating signal supports long-distance, high-impedance location. The long-distance Tx-150 PCM transmitter is ideal for transmission lines with outputs up to 3 Amps and a signal range up to 30 km.
Pipeline Integrity and Corrosion Control:
The PCMx mobile app allows for on-site analysis and enables the operator to review these analyses while progressing through the measurement area. Combining one-second mapping measurements with simultaneous ACCA and ACVG data collection makes measurements faster.
