Pig Consumables
Pigs used in natural gas and oil pipelines are designed for long-term use, but the parts exposed to friction and impact on the pig start to wear out after initial trials. These worn-out parts (polyurethane disks, steel brushes, aluminum plates, and wheels) need to be replaced over time. By replacing these worn parts rather than purchasing a new pig, the efficiency of the pigs can be maintained.

Polyurethane Disks: Product Description: Cleaning and Profile Pig
Polyurethane disks are used in all pigs manufactured worldwide. Polyurethane is one of the rare materials with high abrasion, tear, and tensile strength. This allows pigs to withstand hundreds of kilometers of friction and still reach the next pig station without experiencing pressure loss.

Brushes:
These are brushes made from steel cables used on pigs to clean residual materials before the pipeline is put into use and periodically thereafter.

Cleaning and Profile Pig – Wheels:
Due to the heavy weight of polyurethane pigs, wheels are designed to prevent wear and keep the pig centered in the pipeline.
The spring-loaded wheels are designed with an ST52 galvanized steel body, polyurethane coating, and a steel cast hub. The wheel assembly is adapted to the body using a spring mechanism.
These wheels, produced for use in pigs, are designed to navigate weld seams and possible bends in natural gas pipelines. The purpose of using spring-loaded wheels in pigs is to minimize the load on the polyurethane disks so that the pig, which can weigh around 600 kg, is kept centered in the pipeline.

Aluminum plates: Used to detect bending and deformations in profile pigs. Bending and deformations in pipelines typically occur during the initial laying of the pipeline. Before the pipeline is used, cleaning pigs and then profile pigs are employed to ensure that there are no deformations or bends.
