➡️Product description
Ultrasonic Flowmeter
Flanged DMTFF
The DMTFF Flanged Transit Time Ultrasonic Flowmeter uses advanced ultrasonic technology with signal transmission and two flow sensors to determine flow rate through "transit time" measurement. It is designed for both commercial and consumable water measurement applications. It offers long-term stability and a wide measurement range, making it suitable not only for monitoring water leakage systems but also for measuring water consumption.
Applications:
- Water (hot water, potable water, cooling water, seawater, etc.)
- Petroleum products
- Chemicals, including alcohols, acids, etc.
- HVAC and energy measurement systems
- Beverage, food, and pharmaceutical processing
- Secondary sewage, wastewater treatment, etc.
- Power plants (nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric), heat energy recovery feed water.
- Metallurgy and mining applications
- Pipeline leak detection, inspection, monitoring, and collection
- Network monitoring
Measurement Principle
The DMTF transit time flowmeter uses two ultrasonic transducers as both emitters and receivers. The transducers are mounted on opposite sides of a closed pipe, spaced at a specific distance apart.
The transducers are mounted across the pipe, and the ultrasonic signal is read only once across the pipe, which may use the V-method, or the signal is read four times, using the Z-method or W-method, depending on the pipe and liquid characteristics.
When the flowmeter operates, the two transducers transmit and first receive the ultrasonic signals moving upward and then amplified multi-beam signals. The ultrasonic signal moves faster with upward flow compared to downward flow, resulting in a difference in transit time (△ t). When the flow is steady, the time difference (△ t) is zero. Using the known transit times in both directions, the flow rate (V) and flow volume (Q) can be calculated using the following formulas:
- V = K * △ t
- Q = S * V,
- V= Fluid velocity
- K = Constant
- Δt = Transit time difference
- Q = Flow rate
- S = Cross-sectional area of the pipe
Features
- Calibrated in the production laboratory, no field calibration required

Data Logging and Software Program:
The DMTF transit time flowmeter uses two transducers as both ultrasonic emitters and receivers.
The transducers are mounted on opposite sides of a closed pipe at a specific distance apart.
The transducers are mounted across the pipe, where the ultrasonic signal is read once across the pipe, which may use the V-method, or the signal is read four times, using the Z-method or W-method, depending on the pipe and liquid characteristics.
When the flowmeter operates, the two transducers transmit and first receive ultrasonic signals moving upward and then amplified multi-beam signals.
Due to the faster upward movement of ultrasonic signals compared to the downward movement, there will be a difference in transit time (△ t). When the flow is steady, the time difference (△ t) will be zero. Using the known transit times in both directions, the flow rate (V) and flow volume (Q) can be calculated using the following formulas. V=K∗Δt and Q=S∗V. Where: V = Fluid velocity K = Constant Δt = Transit time difference Q = Flow rate S = Cross-sectional area of the pipe
