SeCorrPhon AC 200
Water Leak Detection Device – Professional – Flexible – Smart
The SeCorrPhon AC 200 is a multifunctional water leak detector offering three integrated functions: preliminary detection, location pinpointing, and correlation. This intelligent integration of processes within a single system enables reliable leak detection regardless of environmental conditions. With just a few finger movements, you can effortlessly and swiftly switch between various applications.
Professional
- The SeCorrPhon AC 200 water leak detection device features a user interface that is clearly and logically organized. It offers numerous additional functions for complex location scenarios.
- High-quality piezo microphones, optimized for leak detection and digital signal processing, deliver exceptional acoustic properties. The device ensures excellent sound quality and minimizes noise interference, allowing reliable detection of leaks even with weak sound intensity or significant background noise.
- The SeCorrPhon AC 200 applies specific filters to current sounds at the touch of a button and automatically selects the appropriate frequency ranges. Alternatively, you can manually adjust filter limits according to your hearing and select frequency ranges that enhance leak sounds. This allows you to focus entirely on the leak without any sound interference.
- Additionally, the integrated audio player allows you to record leak sounds and compare them. These recordings can be used for training, demonstration purposes, or to create a noise database that helps you better assess leak sounds on-site.
Flexible
- One device: pre-detection, location finding, and correlation. An intelligent combination of these methods allows you to confidently find the exact source of the leak regardless of environmental conditions.
- The SeCorrPhon AC 200 is recommended for all users involved in professional leak detection, as it can handle daily location scenarios. It can easily detect leaks in various pipe cross-sections, materials, diameters, and lengths.
- Acoustic leak detection displays the current sound intensity as both a graphical and numerical value on a large 5.7-inch receiver screen. You can also view the current frequency analysis of noise and previous values for better comparison.
Smart
- The sophisticated software of the SeCorrPhon AC 200 means that measurement procedures are nearly fully automated. Once pipeline data is entered and measurement begins, all subsequent steps are carried out without operator intervention. The measured sounds are continuously analyzed in the background, and optimal filter settings are chosen. The SeCorrPhon AC 200 guides the user through various applications containing instructions, allowing even inexperienced or temporary users to operate the device confidently.
- The SeCorrPhon AC 200 automatically optimizes measurement results by selecting appropriate filters without user intervention. However, filters can also be adjusted manually. An additional feature of the correlator is the result-focused, user-friendly display of measurement results on the screen. Detailed information about the leak's location is highlighted without requiring interpretation of complex curves. The quality of the calculations shown on the screen provides continuous feedback on the reliability of the measurement. Thanks to the result-focused view, users can immediately apply additional steps, such as confirming the location using acoustic methods.
Principle of Acoustic Water Leak Detection:
A leak causes the material in the water pipeline to vibrate. These vibrations travel along the pipe and can be detected as noise from the structure at distant contact points, such as fittings. Vibrations also travel to the surface as noise but are very quiet. The SeCorrPhon system is excellent for identifying the location of leaks by making these vibrations audible to the human ear and recording and displaying the sound and frequency spectrum as a graph.
Pre-Detection of Water Leaks:
Place the TS 200 carrying rod and the connected TM 200 touch microphone on fittings along the pipeline and assess the intensity. By evaluating noise intensity, you can identify the section of the pipeline where the leak is most likely.
Locating
Assess intensities in a specific pipe section using the BM 200 ground microphone (for paved surfaces) or BM 230 (for unpaved surfaces). Connect the TS 200 carrying rod to a microphone at a location and move it across the pipeline at short intervals. The visual representation of the acoustic signal and intensity makes it easy to find the maximum. The leak is then accurately located to ensure safe excavation.
Correlation Principle
Location finding with a correlator involves simultaneously measuring the sounds caused by the leak (e.g., from a valve or hydrant) at two points along the pipeline. Highly sensitive microphones record the sounds from fittings, and radio transmitters send the signals to a receiver. The correlator then determines the time difference, or time delay, between the sounds reaching the two measurement points. Using the entered pipeline length, material, and diameter, the correlator calculates the precise leak position.
Comparison of Correlational and Acoustic Location Finding Techniques
The correlation method differs from traditional acoustic leak detection methods: instead of systematically checking fittings (pre-positioning) and then detecting with ground microphones at one location, simultaneous measurements at two fittings are required. In acoustic location, the user compares and evaluates leak sounds. This technique can be used in many network structures, but successful location depends on human hearing and largely on the user’s experience. On the other hand, correlation leak detection provides accurate measurement values regardless of the user's hearing condition and external perturbations.bknz
SeCorrPhon Water Leak Detection Device
- The TS 200 carrying rod can connect to three different microphones. In the past, a special test rod and a carrying rod were needed for surface microphones, but now the TS 200 performs both functions. It records the relevant microphones depending on the application. The TS 200 operates with a high-performance rechargeable battery, ensuring reliable operation for a full workday. The system can be recharged in less than four hours in its system case.
- The TM 200 touch microphone is specially developed for pre-positioning along pipeline fittings. Its frequency response reliably detects both quiet and low sounds in plastic pipes as well as loud leak sounds in metal pipelines. The probe tip and various extension lengths provide optimal adjustment for all pipe networks. The TM 200 features illumination activated by the TS 200 carrying rod, ensuring safe positioning by illuminating the area under valve covers.
- The BM 200 ground microphone is ideal for paved surfaces. Its sturdy casing is optimally separated from the actual microphone capsule. A lifting mechanism ensures continuous perfect contact with the ground, so small surface impacts do not affect results. The BM 230 ground microphone is more suitable for unpaved surfaces. Its robust tripod provides stable positioning. For very soft ground, an extra pointed rod can be screwed in to improve sound transmission.
System Components for Correlation
- The RT 200 radio transmitters have high-performance transmission paths of 500 mW. They provide reliable data communication even when measuring sections covering hundreds of meters. The RT 200 radio transmitter turns on as soon as the microphone cable is connected. Three different bandpass filters ensure that sounds are fully processed before radio transmission, making the RT 200 adaptable to various pipe materials and sections. The microphone’s torch function can also be activated via the membrane keypad.
- The UM 200 microphone, which detects structural noise, has a very broad frequency response and is extremely sensitive in the low-frequency range. This makes the UM 200 excellent for recording the quietest sounds on plastic pipes. The cable is extremely robust and can withstand heavy mechanical loads, ensuring a long service life even under the toughest conditions. A high-quality plug and a highly durable contact adapter make the UM 200 microphone versatile for professional use.
- The HY 200 hydrophones make the SeCorrPhon an excellent measurement system for long distances across large transmission pipelines and between individual connection points. Placed directly into the water column, the hydrophones use noise transmitted by the water rather than structural noise moving along the pipe. HY 200 hydrophones are highly sensitive to sounds well below the audible frequency range. This also makes them a perfect complement to the SeCorrPhon system when used in plastic pipe networks. The set comes in a special plastic box that keeps all components, including adapters for underground water lines and connection cables, readily available.
- The sturdy system case has space to securely hold all system components. The SeCorrPhon AC 200, including two RT 200 radio transmitters, two UM 200 microphones, two BM 200 / BM 230 ground microphones, one TM 200 touch microphone, TS 200 carrying rod, and optional accessories, as well as F8 wireless headphones, is well-protected for transit. The system components can be recharged in the workshop or measurement vehicle in their closed case.
