Operating Principle:

Globally, physical water leak detection is typically carried out using acoustic listening methods, which involve sensitive microphones to detect vibrations and oscillations occurring in pipes. Technological advancements have improved this process, offering better efficiency and accuracy in water leak detection, similar to advancements in many other industries.

WHERE THEY ARE USED:

The device is suitable for use in municipal water networks with a specific pressure, as well as in internal building systems including heating systems, natural gas, and oil pipelines. After testing, if a leak is suspected, you can apply pressurized water into the line and listen for leaks.

WHY THEY ARE USED:

When a water leak occurs, locating its exact position can be challenging. It often requires digging up every suspected area, which is not always feasible and can be time-consuming. This method is also not very effective. Here, physical water loss detection devices come into play, guiding you to the leak without the need for excavation and allowing precise localization.

Rules to Follow When Using in the Field:

One of the most important things to consider is checking whether there are any external noises that might affect the device, especially in areas where excessive sound is heard and suspected. It is crucial to ensure that the device’s settings/values are accurate.

Key Points for Water Leak Detection:

◼️ You must fully concentrate on the device and pause work if the sound is harmful to your ears.

◼️ Different microphone stands should be used based on the ground characteristics (e.g., using ground stakes on soft soil).

◼️ Effective listening is not possible in noisy environments. The most efficient listening occurs during nighttime when network pressures are highest and external noises are minimal, leading to more accurate and faster results.

Instances where leaking water has eroded the underground, leading to subsidence, or infiltrated building foundations, causing them to deteriorate and collapse, are common in today's scenarios.

Basic Principle:

◼️ SEWERIN has a long tradition of system production for damage detection in pipe networks through correlation. The SeCorr® 300 is an unparalleled quality system designed to complement the existing product range.

◼️ It eliminates interference caused by traditional adapters with a fully digital signal processor, which frequently causes issues.

◼️ It removes the well-known whistle in digital radio transmission paths. Analog modules will no longer face limitations even with narrow bandwidths. Noise recorded from leaks is already digitized in the microphone, eliminating feedback through cables. This is particularly advantageous for plastic pipes, which are generally very quiet, as the noise from leaks is transmitted with minimal intensity.

◼️ The result is improved leak coverage in increasingly used non-metallic pipes in water pipe networks. Measurements can be analyzed on ruggedized tablets or laptops designed for harsh conditions, or easily connected to computers via the USB standard.

◼️ The SeCorr® 300 system offers all possibilities to the user to achieve optimal results even under challenging conditions that push the limits of traditional correlators.

Transmitter Unit:

◼️ The radio transmitter RT 300 is mounted on a tripod, providing a transmission range of up to 1000 meters. If the transmitter’s range is insufficient for successful connection, noise is stored in the transmitter’s memory for 40 minutes and transmitted to the receiver as soon as a radio connection is established.

◼️ The transmitter unit is easily transported as a single piece to the field thanks to the microphone holder on the tripod.

◼️ The user can listen to the existing noise through headphones that allow access to and filtering of noise levels. Using the filter, it is easy to estimate the frequency range with the highest noise levels. The equipment is marked with a highly visible bright band that makes it easy to spot, and LEDs around the coating ensure safety during nighttime measurements.

◼️ The supplied rechargeable batteries have a large capacity, ensuring they last well beyond the normal workday.

◼️ Once the measurement process is complete, the entire transmitter unit can be transported within the vehicle.

◼️ Alternatively, the transmitter unit can be disassembled, the tripod folded down, and all parts placed into the carrying case.

Radio Receiver:

◼️ The RX 300 receiver receives signals from the transmitter and routes them to the PC via a USB cable. The cable can be connected to any computer with a USB port.

Overview of Basic Functions:

◼️ Database-based software eliminates cumbersome searches for file names between folders, providing an overview of all measurements at a glance.

◼️ Correlation on the time axis with free selection of connection cuts, synchronized data slope mode; noisy and polluted areas can be reliably identified and hidden (e.g., consumption noise times).

◼️ Original noises can be recorded; an option to create a noise archive for comparison purposes is available.

◼️ Up to 10 filters in 5 filter groups; results of various optional filter settings can be compared.

◼️ Up to 3 freely definable additional materials and 5 different pipe definitions; optimal flexibility compared to fixed standards for correlation professionals.

◼️ Easy creation of damage drawings to support measurement reports; optimal documentation for service companies.
